"Hello everyone, I am Masa from Japan, I am a photographer and also the principal of NPO MASA FREE SCHOOL. I have been to about 70 countries, learning about the situation of street children and offering them whatever support I can. After a long journey, I established a free school for impoverished children in India. My hope is to provide education for children in need all over the world. I wish to hold photography exhibitions everywhere to share my experiences." - Masa

A Rare Heart

It's already a challenge for individuals to do something meaningful for their own country, and many people feel that helping others is beyond their concerns. However, a remarkable individual, Masa, selflessly extends his compassion to over 70 countries. He is a rare heart.

Masa journeys to the world's farthest corners, stepping into impoverished villages, where he has single-handedly established the Masa Free School in a poor locality in India.

It is rare to find someone who seeks no fame or fortune, who fears no hardship, and who asks for nothing in return yet still acts with a noble heart and a spirit of selflessness. Of course, an educator's fundamental wish must be to nurture and inspire. However, anyone can imagine that implementing his vision in resource-poor countries is a daunting challenge, and it's easy to imagine the difficulties involved.

Masa's photographs capture moments of his extremely arduous and challenging journey over the years. Through his lens, we gain a deeper understanding of the hardships faced by these children. In many parts of the world, education is not appreciated as a privilege, but it is the most incredible luxury in these corners.

Witnessing Masa's most dedicated commitment to helping these children is incredibly inspiring. He has repeatedly expressed the overwhelming need for assistance from these children. Unfortunately, he reckons that what he can offer is limited and cannot shelter them from hostile elements of nature. His most significant efforts are concentrated on meeting their most immediate needs, such as providing food so they can survive.

Masa's ultimate dream is to bring education to every impoverished child worldwide, believing it can transform their lives. This photography exhibition showcases his images, capturing the essence of these children's circumstances and his efforts. While dozens of photographs could never fully elucidate their plight without missing a detail, we can perceive his dedication, selfless love, and kindness shine through these photographs, delicately portraying the brilliance of humanity in every frame.
